The DS923+ system is built on the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system and offers comprehensive solutions for protecting and managing business data, convenient document collaboration, remote file access, and monitoring physical resources – all in a compact desktop form factor. The system provides stable performance right after installation, as well as the ability to easily upgrade the network and further increase data transfer speeds with network cards. Efficient storage system that scales as needed
The DS923+ can serve as the primary storage system and data protection solution at home or in small offices, as well as a peripheral node for deployment across multiple sites. The system can store over 50 TB of data in a compact 4-bay chassis. It can be easily scaled to store over 120 TB on 9 drives using the DX517 expansion unit. To enhance performance, NVMe M.2 solid-state drives can be added via the PCIe slot, thus upgrading the network to 10GbE speeds. This ensures fast caching and creates additional All-Flash storage resource pools.

Effective use of local storage
File synchronization between sites allows for mirroring content between Synology devices. This enables remote work for employees and operations for businesses that conduct affairs in various locations. Synology Drive provides intuitive file management and sharing. You will appreciate the convenient remote access to files, privacy, and complete ownership of data in local storage. The DS923+ allows for high-performance local storage while simultaneously reducing space using hybrid cloud technology. Synology Hybrid Share efficiently stores "Cold" Data in the cloud and keeps frequently accessed files cached on the device, available at local network speeds.

Such backup provides continuous protection of critical and confidential data from modern cyber threats to avoid irreversible loss of valuable information. Synology Active Backup Suite allows for secure backup of IT infrastructure, such as Windows and Linux systems, Hyper-V/VMware virtual machines, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts, on the DS923+ and easily restores them as needed. For increased redundancy, backups and snapshots of data at a specific point in time can also be created, stored in the NAS system, and sent remotely to another server or cloud service.

Compact video surveillance server
The device can also serve as a full-fledged video management system, providing complete ownership of local data. Synology Surveillance Station is a powerful video surveillance system already installed in over 500,000 locations, ensuring their reliable protection. Flexible support for the ONVIF standard and over 8,300 verified IP cameras allow for easy and quick deployment according to the requirements of each location. Surveillance Station simplifies the setup and management of up to 40 cameras on the device thanks to a modern, customizable interface. For large buildings or multiple buildings, the option to overlay floor plans and Google Maps or OpenStreetMap cards is available for maximum situational awareness. Important video footage can be stored for increased resilience thanks to support for backup recording servers, multi-device management, and simultaneous dual recording of end-to-end encrypted video in Synology C2 Cloud. ```
